his distinctive style in a journey of self-discovery that
led him from painting to sculpture to drawing and back to
painting. He mixes sand with hand-ground pigments, building
up the paint to a richly textured mass, giving the canvas
a dramatic sculptural dimension. He lives in Taos, New Mexico.
